Day 5:
Today Dawson and I drove out to Banff National Park to see the sights and such.
The mountain views from the road were absolutely stunning and, though many of the trails were still closed due to snow, we went on a couple incredibly scenic hikes. The first place we stopped and hiked was a little canyon. The canyon itself was very skinny, but the river trashing around and eroding beautiful curves was amazing!
The drive was about 1.5 hours each way through glacier fields and amazing mountain scenery, unfortunately Boss was a bit heavy to carry up any of the short trails. He had to wait in the car.
But the park sure was gorgeous! On our way out we even saw a bear! Of course we were safe in the truck but he certainly caused quite the traffic jam! Of course Dawson didn't miss his chance to take some great pictures! (I thought the bear was really cute!)
Sage, Phil and Connor spent the day skating. Phil is having a great time hanging out with his old friend!
After an amazing dinner that Miranda made for us, he boys took off again and Dawson and I went for an evening walk with Sage's parents. Canmore is really a very nice town and I have a feeling we'll come back to visit again.

We had two bears go by the house the other day - a brown one and a black one. Bull elk in velvet walked by today. Heather and Bill are here for awhile (all of a sudden visit). It's been so cold and rainy - probably the same storm from from Yellowstone.
