Canmore to Spider Lake

Day 6:

After getting up bright and early, we drove the long and winding, not to mention beautiful, roads between Canmore, Alberta, and Abbotsford, BC. The whole road was lined with increduibly green forests and really long lakes. We saw a few strange tourist attractions and made sure to take some good pictures with Boss to document the day's journey.

In Abbotsford we stayed with a friend of a friends parents. As seems to be the rule in Canada, they were incredibly nice and very hospitable despite our grungy appearance.

Day 7:

The next day we headed out to tour the beautiful city of Vancouver. It was such a gorgeous city with tall buildings made entirely of glass. We parked in a tiny "parquade" (6'6" in a 6'6" truck is kinda scary), and walked all the way across an awesome suspension bridge and visited Granville Island. There were some very cool shops and I got a pretty awesome hat (see Ferry pictures). We took the water taxi's back across the water. The tide was so low! The taxi driver said that the bay had a 16 ft. tide and that it was currently at an record low.

We hurried off to the ferry terminal, but apparently didn't hurry enough as we ended up about ten cars short of making it onto the 3:00 ferry. We waited around and had a beer (again with the drinking age! haha) at the port and made it easily onto the next ferry. The ferry was so huge! It was really cool how they fit all those cars on. For awhile we stood right at the front (See Connor go really fast), but we ended up sitting inside the viewing thing. No whale sightings though!

Once we landed we reunited with my parents and sister. Connor gave my dad the last cheeseball of a barrel that we bought back home and consumed in about two days. Then we all sat around the fire and played games for a little while before the boys started to have fun with light and the camera. Cool no? Dawson started taking a long exposure on his camera of the amazing stars up here but forgot about it, the result was pretty awesome if I don't say so myself!

Day 8:

Today Dawson took the ferry back to Vancouver and sold his cello to a woman named Lorna for a whopping $3,500! We were all really excited for him!

The rest of us visited Cathedral Groves and The Goats on the Roof Store, it was so fun that we revisited it the next day with Dawson! So pictures and descriptions of Day 9 will include these two places!
